This presentation examines how the harbor’s oldest fortification helped the city withstand a record-breaking 545-day bombardment, the longest siege in American history. Roberts, the president of the Fort Sumter Civil War Round Table, will have copies of his latest book on the subject available for purchase at the meeting.
